Fall 2009 Captains' meeting
Notes from the Captains' Meeting
Artful Dodger, 14 September 2009
-
After discussion of the cost implications, it was agreed to
increase the Q.M. honorarium to $15.
-
The game entry fee remains at $3 for games 1-5, and goes to $4
for games 6-10.
-
It was agreed that "anti-protests" after a game shall not be
allowed, and that current rules shall apply.
If an answer is challenged in a game, and the team that won
the points agrees that their answer was in fact wrong, the
team that won the points can choose to give the points back at
their discretion.
If they choose not to, the other team can proceed with their
protest.
-
First time players play for free.
Mark suggested, and it was agreed, that this should be added
to the formal rules.
-
Q.M.s are to make clear that during play, assistance is not
allowed. Players may not use electronic devices, notes,
newspapers, or crosstalk.
-
Use of cellphones and other devices should be minimized, and
where possible should be done away from the table.
-
During the challenge round, there must be no discussion of
answers with the 2 players potentially involved.
-
Start time is still 7:45 pm.
The QM or either team can request that the game begins at 8.
Only if both teams and the QM agree, can the game be delayed.
It is suggested that the game not be delayed past 8:10pm.
-
Current events questions shall be for events etc., occurring
before midnight [eastern time] Saturday, one week before the game.
